6 Days Gorilla, Canopy walk & Volcano hike

Our driver guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Volcanoes National Park.

Early in the morning after breakfast, head straight to the park headquarters by 7 am for a pre-trekking briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You will then proceed to trek the mountain gorillas. As soon as you have found the gorilla family, you will spend an hour with them. After the memorable adventure with the gorillas, you will have lunch. After that Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge. (BLD)

Early in the morning after breakfast prepare for the day’s hike. It’s strenuous yet a very rewarding hike which involves navigating through the Bisoke side before reaching the first stopping place at an altitude of 3,700 meters for overnight camping before finishing off the journey the next day.

A hike to Karisimbi’s summit is not an ordinary one, but also affords sights of several bird varieties, primates like monkeys and Gorillas since the volcano lies in the primates. The hike up the summit is characterized by muddy trails especially during the rainy season, though due to the altitude, it can rain at any time of the day. Sleeping bags and tents, a chef and porters are hired.

You need relatively good health and stamina to hike through the slippery slopes. After having a good time at the summit, descend back to the camp and down to the Park gate The return hike will the take the second half of the day arriving the park in the evening. After your breakfast, check out of your Lodge and transfer to Nyungwe National Park. It is a 8-9 hours drive from Volcanoes to Nyungwe. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel. (BB)

Early in the morning, you will leave for the Canopy Walk. The activity which takes close to 2 hours, from the start to the end point begins at 8 am. Take a breathtaking view across the misty forest, and at eye-level, you will see a number of unique wildlife inhabiting the canopies.

The first about 200 meters is a walk along a forest trail under the thick canopies for a chance to observe the ground level nature before taking on the canopy walkway to access the top level of the forest. Notable sightings include several monkeys such as L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Black-and-white Colobus, Red-tailed Monkeys, and lots of birds.

Afterward, transfer to Kigali to catch your flight back home.
