4 Days Crater Safari

The classic 4 Days Crater Safari Experience Tour takes you to Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Olmoti crater and Empakai crater.

Tarangire National Park is a national park in Tanzania’s Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire Ecosystem is defined by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras.

Tarangire National Park can be reached via paved road south from Arusha in under two hours. Lake Manyara National Park is a 70 kilometer (43 mile) drive from Tarangire.

4 Days Crater Safari Itinerary

Day 1Arusha- Tarangire- Karatu

Morning pick up from your lodge and transfer to Tarangire national park. Tarangire is famous for its large herds of elephants and Baobab trees. Arrive in time for lunch, then go for an afternoon game drive to see elephants, giraffes, zebras among others. Later drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 2Karatu - Olmoti crater- Empakai crater

After breakfast drive to Olmoti crater ready to take a hike for 1hr30 minutes. After that drive to Empakai crater for the second hike that takes about 2 to 3 hours. Then proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area; check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3Ngorongoro  Crater

After breakfast you will descend into the Ngorongoro crater -Living Eden for tourists; for a morning and evening crater game drive to see the big five and other wild game. Then drive back to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 4Karatu -Arusha

Have breakfast then drive back to Arusha for lunch and later transfer to the airport in time to catch your flight back home.
