Tour Details of the 21 Days uganda primates adventure

The 21 days Uganda Safari takes you to most of the famously visited attractions in the Pearl of Africa. Visit the source of the River Nile, Sipi falls, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls, Kibale  Forest, Semuliki, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi impenetrable, Mgahinga gorilla, and Lake Mburo National parks.

Detailed Itinerary of the 21 Days uganda primates adventure

Day 1 Arrival and transfer to Hotel

You will be welcomed by our driver from Twende Expeditions upon your arrival at the airport. Later drive you to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast, our safari guide will brief you about the 21 Days Uganda Safaris and after start on a journey to the East as you head to Jinja. You will have a brief stopover at Sezibwa falls, Mabira, and then the source of the River Nile. A boat ride on the Nile takes you to the exact spot where the River Nile starts its journey to the Mediterranean sea. Also, visit other fishing villages around Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight stay at Brisk hotel triangle. (B.B)

Day 3Transfer to Sipi falls

After breakfast, you will then drive to Mbale District the home of the beautiful Sipi falls. Sipi falls is composed of 3 breathtaking waterfalls near Mt Elgon. Tour the historical town of Mbale and learn more about their culture. Dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge. (B.B)

Day 4Hike to the three waterfalls.

Have breakfast, join a local guide as you take a hike to the three waterfalls that make up Sipi falls. This entire day hike will give you a unique view of the beautiful Sipi falls as well as its surrounding vegetation. Visit the coffee plantations in the area as well as homesteads. Dinner and overnight at Sipi River Lodge. (B.B)

Day 5Transfer to Kampala.

Have breakfast and then bid farewell to the land of Embaalu (circumcision) and drive back to Kampala. Check in your Hotel for your overnight stay at Mestil Hotel and Residence. B.B)

Day 6Transfer to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.

After breakfast drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track rhinos. The sanctuary located in Nakasongola District was established to reintroduce and breed both the white and black Rhinos, that due to poaching and armed human conflicts were wiped out in 1982. Later relax by the lodge at Ziwa rhino sanctuary guesthouse. (B.LD)

Day 7Transfer to Murchison Falls.

Have breakfast and drive to the beautiful Murchison falls. Stopover by the top of the breathtaking Murchison falls. Check into your lodge, take lunch and later an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Murchison River lodge (B.L.D)

Day 8Game and Boat

Take an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive and expect to see elephants, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions may be leopards and hyenas. Return to the lodge for hot lunch. After that go for a 2 hours boat cruise and take a closer view of the bottom of the waterfall. Expect to see schools of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and a variety birds including the rare shoebill along the shores. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Murchison River Lodge. (B.L.D)

Day 9Transfer to Kibale national park

After breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park through the lush rolling hills of the Albert escarpment to Fort portal town. Then have a short tour in Fort portal town with breathtaking views of the snow-capped Mountains of the moon. After that proceed to Kibale forest driving through the tea plantations. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight at Kibale forest camp. (B.L.D)

Day 10Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi walk

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters to be briefed by the park ranger about chimpanzee tracking. Enter into the forest as you look for the shy primates. After you have found them, you will then spend an hour observing and taking photographs.
In the evening you will also enjoy a swamp walk in Bigodi, a place to spot different types of monkeys, wetland mammals such as sitatungas, baboons, and bushbucks. Also, Bigodi swamp has over 200 species of birds including the great blue turaco, papyrus gonoleks, and flycatchers. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Kibale forest camp. (B.L.D)

Day 11 Transfer to Semuliki National park

After breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and drive to Semuliki national park; visit the Sempaya hot springs, look out for the primates along the paths as well as the birds. Return to the lodge have early dinner and then go for a night game drive to spot nocturnal animals like; otters, white-tailed mongoose, hyenas, and leopards. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Ntoroko game lodge. (B.L.D)

Day 12 Transfer to Queen.

After breakfast, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth, check into your lodge for lunch. And then enjoy an afternoon game drive expect to see lions, hippos, elephants, spotted hyenas, and warthogs. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Simba safari camp. (B.L.D)

Day 13Game and Boat

After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive where you expect to see a variety of animals as they arise. Return to the lodge for lunch and later a 2 hours afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Expect to see hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of bird species along the banks of Kazinga channel, Dinner and overnight at your lodge at Simba safari camp. (B.L.D)

Day 14Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast depart Queen Elizabeth via Ishasha sector that lies in the southern part of this park and known for its extraordinary attraction of the tree climbing Lions. Look out for these lions spotted on the huge acacia trees as you exit the park. Drive to Bwindi, arrive in the evening and check in your lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma community rest camp. Day 15Gorilla trekking

After breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking. Then join the rangers for this exciting adventure with the mountain gorillas as you trek into the impenetrable forest. You will spend an hour observing and also taking pictures of the gorillas and later relax by the lodge the entire evening. Dinner and overnight Buhoma community rest camp. (B.L.D)

Day 16 Transfer to Mgahinga

After an early breakfast, you will then transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park for the beautiful Batwa pygmies trail. They will showcase how they lived in their lives while still in the forest before the government evicted them. Batwa were hunters and gatherers who depended on the wood for shelter, medicine, and food. Also, visit the Sacred Garama cave which was the spiritual and cultural site. Then check into your lodge for dinner at Travellers rest Kisoro. (B.L.D)

Day 17Golden Monkey tracking

After breakfast drive to Mgahinga headquarters for a briefing about the Golden Monkey tracking rules.  The Golden monkeys are unlike the gorillas small and do not nest or leave any evidence of their presence. The forest is windy, rainy and cold due to high altitudes. Therefore you will need to wear the right clothing and carry sticks to help you hike. Rally behind a ranger for this fantastic adventure in the bamboo forest. After that hike the volcano in search of the Golden Monkeys. Enjoy a magnificent view of the three volcanoes Gahinga, Sabyinyo, and Muhavura too. Return to the lodge and relax as you watch the sunset on the Virunga ranges. Dinner and overnight at Travellers rest Kisoro. (B.L.D)

Day 18Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Lake Bunyonyi. Bunyonyi is a word meaning a place of very many little birds. Many tourists that come to Bunyonyi come to mainly relax because it’s got the best scenery in the whole world. Check-in, have lunch then later go for a canoe ride to some of the islands on the lake. Return to the lodge in the evening for leisure as you watch the arrays of the beautiful sunset on the lake. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland resort. (B.L.D)

Day 19Transfer to Lake Mburo

Take breakfast and then check out of your lodge and transfer to Lake Mburo. Take a boat ride on Lake Mburo to see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird species; along the papyrus swamp. Then enjoy an evening game drive expect to see zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and Topis. Later check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Eagle’s Nest. (B.L.D)

Day 20Lake Mburo - Kampala city tour

In the morning you will either have breakfast; then join a ranger for a walk as this is the only park where you can enjoy a safari on foot, or you will enjoy 4 hours horseback riding with a bush breakfast. Then check out your lodge and drive back to Kampala. So stop at the equator for photographs and the water experiment. Then proceed to Kampala and visit some of the historical sites; like Kabaka’s palace, Nakasero market, Namirembe cathedral, and Rubaga Cathedral. Later transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay at Victoria view guesthouse. (B.B)

Day 21 Departure.

Today is the end of the 21 Days Uganda Safari. Therefore, our safari guide will pick you from your hotel; then drive you to the airport in time to catch your flight back home.
