Tour Details for the 10 days bwindi & masai mara

During this tour you will visit Bwindi Impenetrable National park and come face to face with the endangered gentle giants. Located in South western Uganda, Bwindi impenetrable forest is a world’s Heritage site, UNESCO and Home to almost half of world’s gorilla population.

Afterwards visit Kenya’s Famous Masai Mara known for its extraordinary populations of cats like lions, cheetahs, leopards and elephants. Masai mara is also known for the great migration where huge numbers on Wildebeests, Thompson’s gazelles, Zebras and other antelopes move to and from Serengeti.

Itinerary for the 10 days bwindi & masai mara

Day 1Arrival and transfer to Lake Mburo- evening game drive.

Upon arrival you will meet our guide for a briefing and he will transfer you to Lake Mburo. Enroute stopover at Mpambire drum makers and at the Uganda equator line for photographs and water experiment. Lunch enroute then proceed to the park. Lake Mburo National park is the smallest and closest national park to the city of Kampala. It’s located conveniently along the Kampala –Western Uganda highway. Arrive in the afternoon, relax and go for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight in Arcadia Cottages. (FB)

Day 2Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, with packed Lunch, drive straight to Queen Elizabeth and through Ishasha sector the only sector where the tree climbing lions are found. Spot some lions on the big fig trees if you are lucky and proceed to the Kazinga Channel in time for a boat cruise and an evening Game drive as you head to the Lodge. Enroute enjoy the beautiful scenery. Dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge.

Day 3Morning Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park

Very early in the morning take breakfast and checkout of your lodge with packed lunch and head out for an early game drive. At this time you have very high chances of seeing elephants, antelopes and lions as the hunt for their morning prey. Afterwards drive to Bwindi impenetrable National park. Dinner and overnight in Buhoma Haven Lodge. (FB)

Day 4Gorilla trekking and Batwa community visit

After breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters at 7am for a briefing from the park wardens about the whole activity. At 8am the activity begins where you set out to look for these gentle giants. Dressed in hiking boots, walking sticks, rain jackets and in groups led by park guides and rangers you will head to the forest.
The duration of the search is unpredictable and its determined by the movement of the gorillas, however on finding them, you will spent an hour with them taking pictures, videos and observing their fantastic way of life. Later return to your lodge for lunch and in the evening you will have a visit to the Batwa community for dances as they showcase their way of life. Dinner and overnight in Buhoma Haven Lodge. FB

Day 5Fly to Entebbe and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta international airport Nairobi

Early in the morning after breakfast, your driver will transfer you to the airstrip to catch your domestic flight to Entebbe. It takes 2 hours to fly from Kihihi airstrip Bwindi to Entebbe. Later on the same day fly to Nairobi it takes 50 min. to 1 hour to fly to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi you will meet our driver who will transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight in Ole Sereni Hotel. (BB)

Day 6Giraffe centre & Orphanage Visit-Transfer to Nakuru

After breakfast you will head out to the giraffe center that was created by a non-profit making organization called African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W) with the purpose of bringing awareness to school children, youth, local and international visitors about Kenya’s wildlife and environment and the opportunity to come into close contact with the world tallest animal, the Giraffe. Visit the Animal orphanage a refuge for wild animals found abandoned, orphaned or injured throughout Kenya. Later transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park. Overnight in Flamingo Hill Tented Camp. (FB)

Day7Game drives.

Start the day very early at six with a game drive. Expect to see the early risers like the Lions, cheaters, Buffaloes, Gazelles, Rhinos and many more. Return to your Lodge for breakfast, relax, take Lunch and head out for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight in Flamingo Hill Camp.

Day 8Transfer to Masai Mara-Afternoon game drives

This day begins early and departure will be 6 am. Masai Mara is 285Km approximately 5-7hours drive via Kaplong-Narok-Maai road. Ascend through the western rim and cross Loita plains. Take lunch upon arrival at your Lodge then after enter the park and start your afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight in AA lodges Masai Mara. (FB)

Day 9Hot air Balloon, Bush breakfast-Game drive, Masai village visit.

Early in the morning before dawn head to the Hot air balloon Launch site for a briefing and then depart as you float over the plains, forests, and rivers of Mara. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and the breathtaking sights of the open grassland savannah. This gives you a good opportunity of seeing all the animals that you would probably not see during a game drive, plus good photography and videos. The adventure takes 1 hour and depending on the wind current you will land and be honoured with a delicious bush breakfast with a lovely sparkling wine. After breakfast enjoy a game drive as you head to the Masai villages where you will interact with the Masai and learn their cultural dances and lifestyle. Return for Lunch and leisure. Day 10Departure- Nairobi.

Check out of the lodge after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi. Transfer to the airport in time to catch your flight back home.
