Itinerary for the 1 Day Entebbe Tour

This tour starts in the morning, our safari guide from Twende Expeditions will pick you at your residence in Kampala; then drive you to Entebbe which is approximately 45km from Kampala. You will, therefore, visit Ngamba chimps island, reptile village, UWEC and Botanical Gardens.  Botanical gardens are located along the shores of Lake Victoria surrounded with tropical plants. After viewing the beautiful gardens, you will later go for lunch.

After lunch, you will drive to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC)  former (Entebbe Zoo). While at UWEC expect to see a variety of animals such as; lions, elephants, rhinos, impalas, giraffes, eland, warthog and otters. The centre also has a variety of bird species like the peacock, shoebill stork, and parrots. Visit the herbal garden to see a number of medicinal plants.

Other activities at UWEC include; Beach games, Forest walks, Donkey and camel rides, Noah’s ark rides. In addition, there is a children’s play center.

If time allows you will also visit Kigungu landing site  the spot where the first Catholic missionaries to Uganda landed on 17th February 1879. You will also interact with the fishermen along the shores of Lake Victoria. Later drive back to Kampala.). No bus. Walking: light.
