2 days Uganda Birding Safari Uganda
This 2 days Uganda birding Safari takes you to Entebbe and Mabamba wetlands; where you will have the opportunity to spot the elusive shoebill and many more. Mabamba wetland is known as the best place where tourists can spot the rare shoebill and many other bird species at any time of the day.
Day 1: Birding in Entebbe
Our guide will pick you from your lodge and drive to the Botanical gardens for the birding experience. Entebbe’s UWEC has over 150 species of birds. You will see birds like Sunbirds, Bare faced-go away bird, Great Blue, and Ross’s Turacos, Grey Woodpecker; Red Chested, Klaas’s and Diederik Cuckoo, Great Reed Warbler, Fain Tailed Widowbird, Striped, Malachite, Giant, Woodland; and Pygmy Kingfishers, Black Bishop, Olive-bellied and many more. Later on, enjoy a picnic lunch with a whole afternoon of birding and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Mabamba island
Early in the morning after breakfast and with packed lunch leave for Mabamba. Take a canoe ride and see bird species like Pallid Harrier, Papyrus Gonolek, White-winged Warbler and the Blue Swallow. Also see also Gull-billed Terns, White-winged Black Terns, Whiskered Terns, and residents such as Grey-headed Gulls, Goliath Herons; Spur-winged and Pygmy Geese, Malachite Kingfisher, Papyrus Canary, Northern Brown-throated Weaver, Carruther’s Cisticola. In conclusion, you will spot the famous and rare Shoebill Stork and if you are lucky you will also spot the difficult to find Sitatunga antelope. Later in the evening return to your Lodge for dinner and overnight or catch your flight home.
