Day 2: Gorilla trekking activity
Today will be the highlight of our 3 days gorilla trekking Bwindi Safari. After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park wardens. At 8:00 am you will set out into the forest in groups led by park guides and rangers. The movements of the gorillas determine the duration of your search.
Mountain gorillas are herbivores, and they are active between 6:00 Am and 6:00 pm. They spend most of their time feeding, as large quantities of food are needed to sustain their vast body. They live in groups that are headed by a male Gorilla called a Silverback who lead the rest of the members to the feeding spot etc. However, they enjoy the privilege of eating first. On finding them, you will use an hour taking photographs, videos; as well as observing their fantastic way of life.
In the evening visit the Batwa pygmies for a cultural experience. Batwa pygmies are former forest people evicted from the impenetrable forest. Then, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp (B.L.D)
