Detailed Itinerary of 21 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Hotel

You will be welcomed by our driver from Twende Expeditions upon your arrival at the airport. And later drive you to Kampala for an overnight at Nyumbani hotel (B.B)

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja

After breakfast our safari guide will brief you about the 21 Days Uganda Safaris and thereafter drive you to Jinja. You will have a brief stopover at Sezibwa falls, Mabira and then source of the RIver Nile. A boat ride on the Nile takes you to the exact spot where the River Nile starts its journey to the Mediterranean sea. Also visit other fishing villages a round Lake Victoria. Then drive to the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay at Brisk hotel triangle. (B.B)

Day 3: Transfer to Sipi falls

After break you will then drive to Mbale District the home of the beautiful Sipi falls. Sipi falls is composed of 3 breathtaking waterfalls near Mt Elgon. Tour the historical town of Mbale and learn more about their culture. Then check in your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mbale Resort hotel.(B.B)

Day 4: Hike to the 3 waterfalls

Have breakfast, join a local guide as you take a hike to the 3 waterfalls that make up Sipi falls. This entire day hike will give you a unique view of the beautiful Sipi falls as well as its surrounding vegetation. Visit the coffee plantations in the area as well as homesteads. Later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Mbale Resort hotel.(B.B)

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala

Have break fast and then bid farewell to the land of embaalu (circumcision) and drive back to Kampala. Check in your Hotel for your overnight stay at Nyumbani hotel. B.B)

Day 6: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary

Breakfast and then drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. This is the only place to track rhinos in Uganda. After tracking the rhinos, you will relax by the lodge at Ziwa rhino sanctuary guesthouse (B.LD)

Day 7: Transfer to Murchison falls

Have breakfast and drive to the beautiful Murchison falls. Then stopover at the top of the breathtaking Murchison falls; followed by an evening game drive as you head towards your lodge. Then check into your lodge for dinner and overnight at Heritage safari lodge (B.L.D)

Day 8: Game and Boat

Take an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive and expect to see elephants, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions may be leopard and hyenas. Return to the lodge for hot lunch. Thereafter 2 hours  boat cruise to the bottom of the Murchison falls. Offering you a closer view of the mighty waterfall on the River Nile. Expect to see a school of hippos and Nile crocodiles as well as elephants, buffaloes along the shores. Variety bird species including the rare shoe bill stork. Then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Heritage safari lodge.(B.L.D)

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale national park

After breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park through the lush rolling hills of the Albert escarpment to Fort portal town. Then have short tour in Fort portal town with breathtaking views of the snow capped Mountains of the moon. Thereafter proceed to Kibale forest driving through the tea plantations. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight at Kibale forest camp (B.L.D)

Day 10: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi walk

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters to be briefed by the park ranger about chimpanzee tracking.  Thereafter will search for the chimpanzees. After you find them, you will then spend an hour observing and taking photographs.

In the evening you will also enjoy a swamp walk in Bigodi, a place to spot different types of monkeys, wetland mammals such as sitatungas, baboons and bush bucks. In addition Bigodi swamp has over 200 species of birds including the great blue turaco, papyrus gonoleks and flycatchers. Then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Kibale forest camp (B.L.D)

Day 11: Transfer to Semuliki National park

After breakfast you will check out of your lodge and drive to Semuliki national park; visit the sempaya hotsprings, look out for the primates along the paths as well as the birds. Return to the lodge have early dinner and then go for a night game drive to spot nocturnal animals like; otters, white tailed mongoose, hyenas and leopards. Then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Ntoroko game lodge (B.L.D)

Day 12: Transfer to Queen

After breakfast you will drive to Queen Elizabeth, check into your lodge for lunch. And then enjoy an evening game drive expect to see lions, hippos, elephants, spotted hyenas and warthogs. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Simba safari camp.(B.L.D)

Day 13: Game and Boat

After breakfast you will go for a morning game drive expect to see variety of animals as they arise. Then return to the lodge relax and have lunch. Then in the evening you will have 2 hours rewarding boat cruise on Kazinga channel. Expect to see hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of bird species along the banks of Kazinga channel, . Dinner and overnight at your lodge at Simba safari camp.(B.L.D)

Day 14: Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast depart Queen Elizabeth via Ishasha famous for its tree climbing lions. Therefore look out for the tree climbing lions in the acacia trees. Then check in your lodge upon your arrival in Bwindi for dinner and overnight at Buhoma community rest camp (B.L.D)

Day 15: Gorilla trekking

After breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for briefing about mountain gorilla trekking. Then join the rangers for this exciting adventure with the mountain gorillas as you trek into the impenetrable forest. You will spend an hour observing and also taking pictures of the gorillas. After trekking relax by the lodge the entire evening. Later have dinner and overnight Buhoma community rest camp (B.L.D)

Day 16: Transfer to Mgahinga

After an early break fast you will then transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park for the amazing Batwa pygmies trail. They will showcase how they lived in their lives while still in the forest before they were evicted by government. Batwa were basically hunters and gatherers who depended on the forest for shelter, medicine and food. Also visit the Sacred Garama cave which was the spiritual and cultural site. Then check into your lodge for dinner at Travellers rest Kisoro (B.L.D)

Day 17: Golden Monkey tracking

After break fast drive to Mgahinga headquarter for briefing about the tracking rules. Then rally behind a ranger for this amazing adventure in the bamboo forest. Thereafter hike the volcano in search of the golden monkeys. Enjoy a magnificent view of the 3 volcanoes of; Gahinga, Sabyinyo and Muhavura. Return to the lodge and relax as you watch the sun set on the virunga ranges. Dinner and overnight at Travellers rest Kisoro(B.L.D)

Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Lake Bunyonyi. A place of very many little birds. Check into your lodge;have lunch then later go for a canoe ride to some of the islands on the lake. Return to the lodge in the evening and watch the sun set on the beautiful lake. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland resort.(B.L.D)

Day 19: Transfer to Lake Mburo

Break fast and then check out of your lodge and transfer to Lake Mburo. Take a boat ride on Lake Mburo so as to see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird species; along the papyrus swamp. Then enjoy an evening game drive expect to see zebras, giraffes, buffaloes and Topis. Later check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Eagle’s nest.(B.L.D)

Day 20:Lake Mburo – Kampala city tour

In the morning you will either have breakfast; then join a ranger for a safari on foot or you will enjoy 4 hours horseback riding with a bush breakfast. Then check out your lodge and drive back to Kampala. So stop at the equator for photographs and the water experiment at the Equator at Kayabwe. Then proceed to Kampala and visit some of the historical sites; like Kabaka’s palace, Nakasero market, Namirembe cathedral and Rubaga cathedral. Then  transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay at Central inn Entebbe (B.B)

Day 21: Departure after 21 Days Uganda Safari.

Today is the end of the 21 Days Uganda Safari therefore, our safari guide will pick you at your hotel; then drive you to the airport in time to catch your flight back home.
