2 baby gorillas born- Bwindi Impenetrable.
Joy fills the gorilla family as 2 baby gorillas born- Bwindi Impenetrable in 1 week are among the mubare gorilla family; kanyonyi is the silver back and father of the babies. Mubare gorilla group is also the first habituated gorilla family in Uganda. However, mubare gorilla group has 14 members in Buhoma area in Bwindi impenetrable national park.
The good news of the birth of 2 gorillas from the same group in 1 week; is a rather a rare occurrence among the gorillas. The UWA executive director Andrew Seguya says mountain gorillas species are facing a high risk of extinction in the world; consequently there is a total of 880 gorillas remaining; 400 gorillas live in Bwindi while 480 are in the Virunga massif; comprising of Mgahinga gorilla, D.R Congo and Rwanda.
Since the beginning of the year; 10 babies have been born in Bwindi and Mgahinga gorilla national park. This has been due to the conducive conservation measures that make gorillas safe hence relaxed to produce babies.
